A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux

You awaken in a house that is not yours. You are haunted by a past that you hope is not yours. You are given a name that you fear can never truly be yours.

You are Tohya Hachijo.

...Or are you?

In this short interactive experience, take control of an amnesiac looking to find his footing in the home of a strange woman, as he discovers his past -- or runs from it.

This is an Umineko no Naku Koro Ni fangame, made almost entirely with the Episode 5 and Episode 8 manga panels. It presumes that the reader has fully read through all eight Umineko episodes.

This is a short, narrative-driven experience. While it features a plethora of dialogue options that subtly affect aspects of the narrative, there are 4 main paths to take, each bringing you to a wildly different conclusion.

Does someone know how to get ending B? It's the only one i haven't managed to get

The clock ticking sound effect signals ending relevant choices. You have to avoid giving an opinion on Morishima and then not look at the report. There are two variations of this ending, depending on how Battler-like you acted up to that point.

This was a really nice story so far, the woman is a bit odd but she seems nice. 10/10

Play to this game was a strange experience x) That was really good, and the game really has a weird atmosphere. (Also, FUCKING THIEF, that really scared me XD) I didn't except to have this kind of feature in this game 😅

However, that was a good experience ^^

(Also, I found a bug : when you return to the main menu where you are in the "ghost Battler scene" (I hope you understand) and you start a new game, you have the ghost Battler and nothing else. The only way to stop that is to return to the scene and finish it (I didn't try to stop and open the game))

There isn't a secret 5th ending, right?

Also I don't think browsers had tabs at that time...

(+1)

Nope, only four endings!

Actually looking at it, I can kiiiiind of get away with having a tab, looking at the timeline? It would be down to the year and god knows how widespread it would've been but y'know according to wikipedia y'know technically accurate y'know y'know y'kn

If we go really technical... The first browser with tabs, InternetWorks, was released in June, 1994.

The scene with Ikuko looking at forums occurs on Day 182. The scene with "Summer has barely started" occurs on Day 290...

So it probably is just barely not enough, by a few months.

Of course, this is all for the sake of silliness, the game was awesome.

Well yes, but the days are randomly incremented so in one reality i'm sure I can get away for some player :)

Seems like there are actually two variations of [B] ending (I looked at the script to find another one tbh).

Well, yes, technically [B] has two variations, but I'm only counting the paths, given that the actual point of the path is achieved by that point. [C] path also has a completely different scene somewhere in the middle depending on your relationship with Ikuko, but the conclusion is still the same.
